Privacy Policy — HeroDex

HeroDex is an unofficial, fan-made hero catalogue for Empires & Puzzles, published by Milo Gianinazzi. This policy explains what the app does and does not do with your data.

The short version

HeroDex does not collect, store, or share any personal information. There is no account, no sign-in, no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind. The app requests one permission — internet access — and uses it only to download its hero catalogue and hero artwork.

Information the app collects

None. HeroDex has no servers and no backend. Nothing you do in the app is recorded, transmitted or associated with you. Specifically, the app does not collect:

your name, email address, or any account information;
your location;
your contacts, photos, files, or any other content on your device;
your advertising ID or any other device identifier;
usage analytics, session data, or crash reports.

The only data the app stores is the hero catalogue itself, kept in the app's private storage on your device. Uninstalling the app deletes it.

Network connections the app makes

The app connects to two third-party hosts. Neither receives any information about you beyond what every HTTPS request necessarily carries — your device's IP address, and a standard request header identifying the app.

GitHub Pages (magicmustache.github.io) — the app periodically checks a small manifest file for a new version of the hero catalogue, and downloads the catalogue when one is published. This runs in the background over an unmetered connection. GitHub may log request metadata, including IP addresses, as part of operating its service; see GitHub's Privacy Statement.

Fandom's image CDN (static.wikia.nocookie.net) — hero card and portrait images are loaded from the Empires & Puzzles Wiki as you browse. Fandom may log request metadata, including IP addresses; see Fandom's Privacy Policy.

Neither connection sends anything the app knows about you, because the app knows nothing about you.

Working offline

The hero catalogue ships inside the app, so browsing works with no network connection at all. If you never go online, the app makes no network requests except image loading, which simply falls back to placeholder artwork.

Children's privacy

HeroDex is not directed at children under 13 and collects no data from anyone, including children.

Permissions

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this URL with a new date at the top. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
